What started as a $7MM remodel of public spaces in 2008 was turned into a super-fast track project when Hurricane Omar struck Anguilla in October.   The insurance adjusters visiting the property in mid-October 2008 decried that, “it would take a miracle to get this property open for the season.”  In response the project team executed a $30MM design and construction program (including the original $7MM) and reopened the resort on December 19th 2008.  The project work included all new public spaces, new landscape throughout, complete remodels of the resort’s three restaurants (Blue, Spice & Pimms), refreshing of guestroom FF&E and select damage replacement, and a complete restoration of the beach which had been washed out to sea in the hurricane.  The project work later included in 2010 a remodel of Villa 12 into a custom sales model unit that creates a new level of luxury with amenities such as an infinity tub, private three sided infinity edge pool, custom kitchen and powder rooms, luxurious bedroom finishes and a trendy but comfortable interior design package.
